Tell Us About Them:

Beth always did things her own way. When she was just a toddler she would get up in the middle of the night to watch "the funny guy" (Jay Leno) on TV while the rest of us were asleep! We had to put locks on the tops of all of the doors just so she wouldn't wander off!

Tell Us About Their Struggles With Addiction:

Unfortunately we don't know much about her struggle with addiction. We now understand that she had probably been exposed to it over three years ago. We just found out a few months before she died. Although we tried to help her find a rehab facility, she was not interested in participating in any type of program. We've learned so much since she's passed away...I just wish we would have known more before she passed away and would have been able to help her.

What Made Them Smile?

Beth's dog, Windy, always made her smile! She also loved her nephew and nieces as well as her little sister, Katie! She would have been a great mom!

What Do You Miss the Most About Them?

I think I miss the opportunities the most...the opportunity to see her happy, the opportunity to see her in a job she loved, the opportunity to see her become a mom.

If You Had a Chance to Say One More Thing to Your Angel What Would It Be?

I love you...we ALL love you!

State:  Pennsylvania, 15963

Date of Passing: 05/01/2016
Date of Birth: 05/08/1993
Age: 22

Tell Us About Them:

My son was a charismatic, fun loving, hard working, kind, and polite young man. He would light up a room when he walked in. His laughter was contagious. His heart was so big. He had a dry sense of humor and quick wit.

Tell Us About Their Struggles With Addiction:

He started using weed and pills at 16. We didn't realize how far his addiction had gone until after about 5 years later. He requested to go to rehab after Christmas 2015. He went to rehab 1/3 and returned home on 2/5. He seemed to be doing great. No signs of drug use until he was in a tragic accident in which he was a driver that killed a 4 year old little boy. From that point on, he troubles with nightmares and sleeping. He was in counselling and going to doctors to help with his anxiety and depression. On 5/1, just 1 week before his 23rd birthday, I found him dead from a heroin overdose.

What Made Them Smile?

Everything made Zach smile. He would light up a room as soon as he would walk in. If someone was having a bad day, he was the first one there and would make sure they were laughing and carefree within minutes.

What Do You Miss the Most About Them?

I miss his voice, his smile, his smell. Most of all, I miss him calling me "Mamma Bear".

If You Had a Chance to Say One More Thing to Your Angel What Would It Be?

I would give him the biggest hug and I would tell him that he had people. People that would not judge him and get him the help that he so needed.

State:  Kentucky, 40359

Date of Passing: 10-01-2013
Date of Birth: 04-14-1990
Age: 23

Tell Us About Them:

Allison was our first born. She was a great girl. Full of life. Allison was an A student through Hugh school, was in marching band from middle school until she graduated. Allison was the one in the crowd that would always make people laugh. She was so fun to be around.

Tell Us About Their Struggles With Addiction:

We really didn't experience Allison struggling with addiction. It was brought to our attention that she may have tried heroin. We talked to her about it and offered her help, but as I'm sure all do, she denied using. Within just a couple months she overdosed. Her sister found her in our living room. She overdosed by snorting the heroin. It is something I will never understand and ask myself why everyday. Some days I'm just numb and don't really even know what I feel. I just know it's the greatest heartbreak I have ever known. My heart aches for her and I miss her more every day.

What Made Them Smile?

It didn't take much at all to make our sweet girl smile. She loved being around her friends and enjoyed the simple things in life.

What Do You Miss the Most About Them?

I miss hearing her voice and seeing her smile.

If You Had a Chance to Say One More Thing to Your Angel What Would It Be?

I would just tell her, as I did every day, how much I love her. I would tell her how special she is.

2016/03/06 - Charlie Donoho - Age 41 yrs - Dundalk, Maryland

Submitted by: Emily Donoho - Parent

Name: Charlie Donoho
State:  Maryland, 21222

Date of Passing: 03/06/2016
Date of Birth: 5/30/74
Age: 41

Tell Us About Them:

My dad, Charlie, was a hard working man, with a huge heart, and one courageous personality. He is known for going into anything, with full force all from the heart. And of course being a social butterfly. One legacy he stuck strong to was If he believed, he could. No matter what my dad was going through, it didn't matter to him, what he cared about was seeing others around him happy. He's been through extreme ups and downs in life but always thrived to make it the best he could, being nothing but positive, keeping a huge smile, regardless of the situation.

Tell Us About Their Struggles With Addiction:

My dad struggled most of his life with addiction. But it did not get bad until life threw a series of hardships his way. With no where to turn, and no one to turn to but me, he turned to what was a nightmare something he thought could make him feel good rather then depressed and lonely through his complicated life. But he did not like it. At first he thought there was nothing better then it. But then I realized, he hated what he loved. He hated that it took him over and controlled his life, he hated that he could ever let himself get to that point, he hated that it took him away from all he had, he hated that he needed it. He wanted, and knew he had to get clean, and he pushed, and pushed with never ending hope to do that. He would make it months without, but it always pulled him back. He hated it, and so did I. We never thought it could happen to him, but it ends only two ways. However, he is now clean flying high with others who faced the same struggle.

What Made Them Smile?

Little things would make my dad happy. A sunny day, spending time with loved ones and friends, and being outside doing active things.

What Do You Miss the Most About Them?

I most miss my dads smile, voice, and motivation to always be my best.

If You Had a Chance to Say One More Thing to Your Angel What Would It Be?

That he did his job as a father, a friend, and son and he left one huge legacy behind in the neighborhood, and most important that I love him.

Loving Husband and Father, loved God and people. Loved the great outdoors. Fishing and hunting were some of his favorite things to do besides watching his children play sports

Tell Us About Their Struggles With Addiction:

His struggle started when he began having severe back pain due to several herniated discs in his back. His doctor began prescribing him massive doses of Morphine and Percocet. After being clean and sober for over 10 years, his disease reared its ugly head as his pain worsened, his need for medication increased. He knew how to get the medicine he needed prescribed by seeing several different doctors and using different pharmacies throughout town. His last resort before possibly having to have surgery on his back was the use of heroine. He was worried about not being able to provide for his family. Now he is gone.

Heroin Memorial - 2014/12/17 - Timothy Conners Jr - Age 25 yrs - Hamilton, Ohio

2014/12/17 - Timothy Conners Jr - Age 25 yrs - Hamilton, Ohio

Submitted by: Pamela Robinson - Parent

Name: Timothy Conners Jr
State:  Ohio, 45013

Date of Passing: 12/17/2014
Date of Birth: 12/27/1988
Age: 25

Tell Us About Them:

Timmy was my only son, the eldest of my 2 children he loved life the biggest love of his life was his little sister, he always said I had her for him, he loved her unconditionally. Timmy was such a caring person he loved four wheeling and spending time with his family. I am so greatful that I had him for the 25yrs that god granted me, I miss him more then words can ever express.

Tell Us About Their Struggles With Addiction:

Timmy struggled with addiction for about 5-6yrs, his drug of choice besides marijuana was an addiction to pills, I first cought on when he came home and passed out in our hallway in the middle of the night hitting the wall so hard he knocked himself out he had mixed somekind of pills with alcohol, shortly after that he went away to drug rehab in Florida, he did good after coming home for about 1yr, then I started to notice "The Change" I gave him a choice to move out or go back to rehab, with no job he backed up amd moved out, about 2 weeks later I got a phone call at work from a rehab in California wanting his insurance information he took it upon himself to find a place to go, I was so proud of him for taking that step on his own he was gone for about 6months when he returned he took over running our family buisness during the day then later started working a 2nd job at night, he did so well for about 1yr then he got pulled over he took a a breathalyzer test and passed that the police officer did not believe that he was sober he believed he was under the influence of something so they wanted to take him in for a blood test he refused the blood test so they charged him with a DUI he told me he would have tested positive for marijuana so at that time he was put on reporting probation he had to report to a probation officer every week and do a drug test he paid off all of his fines and passed every single drug test he passed away December 17th 2014 the week he should have been taken off probation he had paid off all of his fines and did past that final drug screen, he was found by our neighbor in his room unresponsive when he did not show up for work he passed away later at the hospital in disbelief that it could have been drugs because of passing all the drug test at the probation officer we were shocked to find out that he died of a fentanyl heroin overdose after checking his cell phone somehow he had been passing the drug screen over the past two weeks and have been experimenting with the heroin I seen several text messages where he had asked the dealer if the stuff he was using was good or bad with Assurance from the drug dealer to him that he would never sell bad stuff that's when I found out that he used heroin, with my sister being a 6 year or more heroin addict he assured me he would never ever try to use that and him passing all the drug screens at the probation officer had given him I believed him however past those drug screens the last 2 weeks that he was on probation I will never know, he was doing so well working 2 jobs paying off all of his fines within just a short period of time I was totally blindsided by this. Timmy died 10 days before his 26th birthday I had to bury him the day after his birthday December 27th his birthday being December 26th I refused to bury him on the day he was born.

What Made Them Smile?

Clowning around with his dad and sister.

What Do You Miss the Most About Them?

His smile, the 4:30pm phone call that I got every single day when I got off of work to find out what was going to be for dinner whether he was going to be home or not and he would always say save me some and the sound of his truck pulling up in front of the house when he would come home and every night no matter what time he came home he would always come in my bedroom tell me he was home and give me a kiss goodnight.

If You Had a Chance to Say One More Thing to Your Angel What Would It Be?

But I love him more than anything in the world and that I'm sorry I didn't come down that morning to wake him up I didn't see his keys laying on the counter and it being his payday I always lay his pay check underneath his keys I am so sorry that I did not go down there and ask him where his keys were I know after working during the day what are family business and then working at night at his other job he was always so tired and headed to be woke up for the alarm clock went off. I just wanted to let him know that I love him more than anything in the world and I know he would never purposely leave his momma and his little sister.
