Tell us what they were like before they developed a substance use disorder*

Jon was a fun-loving guy who could light up the room with his smile. He was best friends with his older brother Tim. Jon graduated from Tewksbury High School then continued his education at Northeastern University and obtained a certificate as a Certified Meeting Planner. He loved traveling with his mother assisting in Corporate and Meetings & Incentive Programs. Just before his passing, he became part of Sheehan & Sons painting in which his father created the business for our sons. Jon was extremely proud of this new and exciting endeavor with his father and brother.

Tell us about their struggles with substance use disorder

Jon developed an addiction to opiates. First being prescribed by a doctor for a shoulder injury but later became addicted to heroin. He battled the addiction hard through different programs. He was sober for 9 months before he relapsed and died of an overdose.

What made them smile?

Jon loved his big extended family. He always was smiling and laughing. He had a great love for music and music was always a part of his day.

What do you miss the most about them today?

I miss his big smile and tight hugs the most. He made the world a better place by always helping others.

If you had a chance to say one more thing to today what would it be?

Momma loves you so much and I know you are with me every day.
