Tell Us About Them:

Danny was very gifted artistically, and musically.
He loved his family and friends. At his funeral I was told by many of his friends, how he talked them out of their next hit. But he couldn't stop his.

Tell Us About Their Struggles With Addiction:

We tried getting Danny help for many years. He was told numerous times that he was a guy, he was not disabled, and had no children, so get a job.
He was finally diagnosed with bi-polar a year before his death. He was put on seroquel but was quickly taken off that medication when he went into a halfway house. While on that medicine he said he never felt better about himself. He told me many times if it wasn't for what it would do to me, he would take his own life. He said the struggle to get well was impossible.

What Made Them Smile?

Playing with his niece and nephew, my crazy jokes with his stepfather, and hanging out with his friends.

What Do You Miss the Most About Them?

His smile, his bear hugs, and most of all his loving heart.

If You Had a Chance to Say One More Thing to Your Angel What Would It Be?

Danny I'm so proud of the many people you've helped. I love you baby.

Heroin Memorial - 2016/01/25 - Matthew Evans - Age 29 yrs - Sidney. Ohio

2016/01/25 - Matthew Evans - Age 29 yrs - Sidney. Ohio

Submitted by: Alyssa Clark - Sibling

Name: Matthew Evans
State:  Ohio, 45365

Date of Passing: 01/25/2016
Date of Birth: 12/24/1986
Age: 29

Tell Us About Them:

Matt was my best friend. We didn't have the easiest life but he made sure we had happiness in our youth. He was the father of four beautiful children. He was an amazing dad, big brother, and friend. Matthew never judged, and he loved his kids and his family with all his heart.

Tell Us About Their Struggles With Addiction:

Matthew was in a horrible car accident his senior year of high school which severed his hand (he was a basketball player) was on pain killers. Later the same year he was playing football with his friends and got hurt again this time getting pins and rods in his leg. He was then put back on the pain meds. He got into his fair share of trouble when he was younger. He then built a family and started to clean up his lifestyle. He ended up with four kids.

He was married and got his heart broken. Because of the pain we had as children we were afraid to love. So his heart was crushed and he dealt with his pain the best way he knew how, drugs. In July 2014 he told me he met a girl. A conversation about a month later he revealed to me he was on heroin. I didn't tell a soul. I was terrified. Eventually, I spoke. We tried to help. We thought if we could just get him home maybe he would feel a little love and want to get clean. He came home once after that. He wasn't well but every time we talked I always made sure to tell him I loved him. His birthday is the day before Christmas, I tried calling and texting him the 24th, 25th,26th,27th,28th etc. until the 1-3-16 I finally was able to reach him through a Facebook post asking him if he was alive. His response: unfortunately.

I knew then he was so sad. He was tired. I had lost my hero. The Wednesday before he passed I posted "I love you,  Your baby sister" he replied "I love you more" and I said "I miss you so much, I want you to know wherever you go I'm with you in spirit" and that was our last conversation. On Monday January 25th, 2016 I woke up like any other day. Around 12pm I got a call that Matt had been found. He was gone. He no longer had to fight.

What Made Them Smile?

His children

What Do You Miss the Most About Them?

I miss his voice, his love he had for me, and everything about him.

If You Had a Chance to Say One More Thing to Your Angel What Would It Be?

I'm sorry you hurt so badly. I love you so much. And no matter what anyone says you're still my hero.

Date of Birth: 03/03/1993

Tell Us About Them:

Beth always did things her own way. When she was just a toddler she would get up in the middle of the night to watch "the funny guy" (Jay Leno) on TV while the rest of us were asleep! We had to put locks on the tops of all of the doors just so she wouldn't wander off!

Tell Us About Their Struggles With Addiction:

Unfortunately we don't know much about her struggle with addiction. We now understand that she had probably been exposed to it over three years ago. We just found out a few months before she died. Although we tried to help her find a rehab facility, she was not interested in participating in any type of program. We've learned so much since she's passed away...I just wish we would have known more before she passed away and would have been able to help her.

What Made Them Smile?

Beth's dog, Windy, always made her smile! She also loved her nephew and nieces as well as her little sister, Katie! She would have been a great mom!

What Do You Miss the Most About Them?

I think I miss the opportunities the most...the opportunity to see her happy, the opportunity to see her in a job she loved, the opportunity to see her become a mom.

If You Had a Chance to Say One More Thing to Your Angel What Would It Be?

I love you...we ALL love you!

Date of Passing: 05/01/2016
Date of Birth: 05/08/1993
Age: 22

Tell Us About Them:

My son was a charismatic, fun loving, hard working, kind, and polite young man. He would light up a room when he walked in. His laughter was contagious. His heart was so big. He had a dry sense of humor and quick wit.

Tell Us About Their Struggles With Addiction:

He started using weed and pills at 16. We didn't realize how far his addiction had gone until after about 5 years later. He requested to go to rehab after Christmas 2015. He went to rehab 1/3 and returned home on 2/5. He seemed to be doing great. No signs of drug use until he was in a tragic accident in which he was a driver that killed a 4 year old little boy. From that point on, he troubles with nightmares and sleeping. He was in counselling and going to doctors to help with his anxiety and depression. On 5/1, just 1 week before his 23rd birthday, I found him dead from a heroin overdose.

What Made Them Smile?

Everything made Zach smile. He would light up a room as soon as he would walk in. If someone was having a bad day, he was the first one there and would make sure they were laughing and carefree within minutes.

What Do You Miss the Most About Them?

I miss his voice, his smile, his smell. Most of all, I miss him calling me "Mamma Bear".

If You Had a Chance to Say One More Thing to Your Angel What Would It Be?

I would give him the biggest hug and I would tell him that he had people. People that would not judge him and get him the help that he so needed.

Tell Us About Them:

Allison was our first born. She was a great girl. Full of life. Allison was an A student through Hugh school, was in marching band from middle school until she graduated. Allison was the one in the crowd that would always make people laugh. She was so fun to be around.

Tell Us About Their Struggles With Addiction:

We really didn't experience Allison struggling with addiction. It was brought to our attention that she may have tried heroin. We talked to her about it and offered her help, but as I'm sure all do, she denied using. Within just a couple months she overdosed. Her sister found her in our living room. She overdosed by snorting the heroin. It is something I will never understand and ask myself why everyday. Some days I'm just numb and don't really even know what I feel. I just know it's the greatest heartbreak I have ever known. My heart aches for her and I miss her more every day.

What Made Them Smile?

It didn't take much at all to make our sweet girl smile. She loved being around her friends and enjoyed the simple things in life.

What Do You Miss the Most About Them?

I miss hearing her voice and seeing her smile.

If You Had a Chance to Say One More Thing to Your Angel What Would It Be?

I would just tell her, as I did every day, how much I love her. I would tell her how special she is.

Tell Us About Them:

Jesse was a hard worker and a Pittsburgh steelers fan. He would give the shirt off his back for a friend in need. He loved his family and his daughter most of all. many friends of his from school have spoken out to me about how nice jesse was to everyone , not caring about the opinion of others .

Tell Us About Their Struggles With Addiction:

Jesse was born into the cycle of addiction ., lost his father and brother . He was a father figure to his younger brothers. When we met , he was honest about his struggle , but he had just complete teen challenge and was the best he had ever been. He would relapse on pills and then to heroin. then would quickly get help or just stop cold. He would always tell me " I got this. I'm done . I know what I need to do ". sadly , his love for his daughter wasn't enough to stop his demons .

What Made Them Smile?

one word . his daughter ,Bliss . she was his world . his whole heart was filled with love for her ..

What Do You Miss the Most About Them?

I miss the way jesse loved me unconditionally. He was forgiving and just an amazing man . I miss everything about him and he can't be replaced .

If You Had a Chance to Say One More Thing to Your Angel What Would It Be?

I would say" I'm sorry , you were right about so much and I was too caught up on your addiction to see where I was wrong . please forgive me "

Date of Passing: 03/06/2016
Date of Birth: 5/30/74
Age: 41

Tell Us About Them:

My dad, Charlie, was a hard working man, with a huge heart, and one courageous personality. He is known for going into anything, with full force all from the heart. And of course being a social butterfly. One legacy he stuck strong to was If he believed, he could. No matter what my dad was going through, it didn't matter to him, what he cared about was seeing others around him happy. He's been through extreme ups and downs in life but always thrived to make it the best he could, being nothing but positive, keeping a huge smile, regardless of the situation.

Tell Us About Their Struggles With Addiction:

My dad struggled most of his life with addiction. But it did not get bad until life threw a series of hardships his way. With no where to turn, and no one to turn to but me, he turned to what was a nightmare something he thought could make him feel good rather then depressed and lonely through his complicated life. But he did not like it. At first he thought there was nothing better then it. But then I realized, he hated what he loved. He hated that it took him over and controlled his life, he hated that he could ever let himself get to that point, he hated that it took him away from all he had, he hated that he needed it. He wanted, and knew he had to get clean, and he pushed, and pushed with never ending hope to do that. He would make it months without, but it always pulled him back. He hated it, and so did I. We never thought it could happen to him, but it ends only two ways. However, he is now clean flying high with others who faced the same struggle.

What Made Them Smile?

Little things would make my dad happy. A sunny day, spending time with loved ones and friends, and being outside doing active things.

What Do You Miss the Most About Them?

I most miss my dads smile, voice, and motivation to always be my best.

If You Had a Chance to Say One More Thing to Your Angel What Would It Be?

That he did his job as a father, a friend, and son and he left one huge legacy behind in the neighborhood, and most important that I love him.
